Handover of the Plants in Sibiu / Romania Print

The waste treatment plants have been handed over after successful test runs - full in time schedule and in complete satisfaction to the client (County of Sibiu). One sorting plant for separate collected recyclables and a mechanical – biological treatment plant was established in Sura Mica, a suburb of Sibiu City. A second mechanical - biological treatment plant was constructed in Trnava, a small city in the North East of the county of Sibiu. The closure of the full and old landfill in Remeta happened at the same time. The scope of IUT included the complete delivery, erection and startup of all mechanical equipment including the aeration systems for the MBT plants and the measurements of the landfill gas at the Remeta site.


IUT wishes to say thank you to all project participants of this project, especially to the county of Sibiu, the consultant and the general contractor for the very successful cooperation. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
First machines have been delivered to Sibiu/Romania Print

Following a public call for tenders, IUT GmbH was commissioned to deliver the machines and the process know-how to the city of Sibiu/Romania. The first aggregates reached the Romanian construction sites in December 2013, one and a half months prior to the delivery date! 
In the course of this project, a sorting plant for separately collected recyclable materials as well as two composting plants including maturation will be erected.
The second partial delivery will reach Romania towards the end of January; the erection of the plant will start in February and be finished by the middle of March. From today’s perspective, the project is on schedule.

Success for IUT GmbH - IUT GmbH won a tender in Bahrain!

Wadi Al Buhair is the name of a dumpsite in the center of the Kingdom of Bahrain which has been closed since 15 years. Due to new developments the direct surrounding of this site is nowadays densely populated. In 2012 the Kingdom’s Ministry of Housing decided to construct new apartments on the old dumpsite. Therefore a construction company was awarded to excavate the garbage und transfer it to the existing landfill site in Askhar. In May 2013 the works commenced but were shut down only a few days later due to severe odour problems and several fires.


In September 2013 the Ministry issued an international tender to stabilize the waste dump before opening and excavation. IUT GmbH based Seebenstein/Austria won this 2,4 Mio USD project convincingly against competitors from USA and Russia/Germany. The technology used called “Smell Well System” developed and owned by IUT GmbH guarantees a daily excavation progress of 5000 tons without any odour problems or fire hazards. It will allow the project to be finished within approx.. four months from beginning of the aeration process.


IUT GmbH’s “Smell Well System” will again demonstrate that it is the most effective aeration system to stabilize landfills before their remediation worldwide. More than 17 Mio cubic meters of landfill volume including household waste, industrial waste or sludges/slurry have been successfully stabilized in many countries (from Japan to Canada) since 1993 and makes IUT GmbH the world leader in this specialized field of technology.
